Societal Engagement.

We would like to express our thanks to our employees around the world for their societal commitment. With their volunteer work, they take on responsibility. They provide support where it is needed, and actively dedicate themselves to society.

Volunteering brings people together, promotes participation and strengthens social cohesion. We are proud that Mercedes-Benz Group employees are committed to volunteering, and that they donate their time, energy and talents to helping.

Olaf Schick.

Here at Mercedes-Benz, we foster a culture in which social commitment plays an important role. I am delighted to see so many of our colleagues getting involved, taking on responsibility and strengthening social cohesion.

Showing where we stand – Together.

The United Nations has designated 2026 as the International Volunteer Year (IVY 2026) in order to honour the commitment of volunteers around the world. We share the conviction that such volunteering makes an especially valuable contribution to building a society which can thrive in the future. As an employer, we promote a culture which values personal commitment, makes it visible and supports it by means of our own initiatives. At Mercedes-Benz South Africa, for example, a volunteering programme helps employees get involved in social initiatives and projects. ProCent, a Mercedes-Benz employee initiative, is a further example– jointly supported by the Group Works Council, the company management, and the Group Speakers' Committee. With cent donations from employees, which are matched by the company, ProCent provides funding for charitable projects which are particularly close to our employees’ hearts.
