Social Day with Lebenshilfe Stuttgart.

A day full of new impressions and shared experiences: within the scope of a Social Day, the People Communication team from Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart made it possible for older people with disabilities to enjoy a day at the Wilhelma – Germany’s only zoological-botanical garden.

Volunteering has many forms. Just a single day can bring great joy and make a meaningful difference. Eugen-Fitz-Haus, run by Lebenshilfe Stuttgart, is home to seniors with disabilities who require individual support in their daily lives. An excursion is a rare highlight because residents need one-to-one care. The commitment of Mercedes-Benz employees made this special outing to the Wilhelma possible, and created a very special day at the zoological-botanical garden.

The initiative is a great example of how many Mercedes-Benz employees contribute within the scope of a Social Day. These Social Days combine cohesion and development within the team with socially responsible actions, creating experiences which leave a lasting impression. Not only the residents of Eugen-Fitz-Haus had a special day. For the team as well, the day was deeply rewarding, with inspiring interactions and perspectives. Anyone wanting to get involved with their own teams will find a wide range of volunteering opportunities and partner organisations on the let’sIMPACT platform in the company’s intranet.

For us, this day was much more than a Social Day. We experienced how valuable encounters are where we come together as equals, how volunteering together connects people and how much it is possible to achieve simply by donating your time and being open and caring. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Lebenshilfe Stuttgart for their trust and for giving us the opportunity to be part of this very special day.
