Information regarding the Act on the Equal Participation of Women and Men in Executive Positions

Act on the Equal Participation.

The advancement of women is a focus topic in diversity management. Mercedes-Benz has set itself aspirational goals to fill more senior management positions with qualified women and aims to achieve a share of 30 % group wide in 2030 as a next step. By December 31, 2023 the proportion is at 25,7 %.

Alongside our voluntary commitment to promoting women in executive positions, we are bound in Germany by the Act on the Equal Participation of Women and Men in Executive Positions in the Private and the Public Sector in the version of the Second Executive Positions Act, which applies to listed companies or those subject to co-determination. It obliges the companies concerned to determine and publish targets for the proportion of women on their supervisory board, their management body and in the two levels below their management body, as well as a deadline for achieving them. Statutory minimum quotas apply directly to listed companies such as Mercedes-Benz Group AG, which have equal co-determination.

In addition to Mercedes-Benz Group AG itself, this act applies to Mercedes-Benz Bank AG, Mercedes-Benz Bank Service Center GmbH, Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG, Mercedes-AMG GmbH, Mercedes-Benz Group Services Berlin GmbH, Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation GmbH, Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion GmbH, MBition GmbH, Mercedes-Benz AG and Mercedes-Benz Ludwigsfelde GmbH.

  • Mercedes-Benz Group AG reports its target quotas and deadline for achievement in the Declaration on Corporate Governance, which is part of the annual report.
  • Mercedes-Benz Bank AG and Mercedes-Benz Bank Service Center GmbH report their targets and deadlines in the disclosure report of the Mercedes-Benz Bank Group .
  • Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG  and Mercedes-AMG GmbH  publish their targets and deadlines in their own company websites.
  • Mercedes-Benz Group Services Berlin GmbH, Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation GmbH, Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion GmbH and MBition GmbH publish their targets and deadlines in their respective corporate governance declarations as part of their annual management report in the Company Register.
