We are convinced that sustainable success can only be achieved with diverse teams. One of our strategic fields of action in diversity, equity and inclusion management is therefore explicitly the advancement of women.

Management positions for qualified women:

The advancement of women remains an important and challenging focus topic - especially for an industrial company. Our aspiration is clear: We want to fill more senior management positions with qualified women and are aiming for a share of 30 percent in 2030 as the next step. At Mercedes-Benz, the share of women in senior management positions worldwide is 26.7 percent (Dec. 31, 2025).

Measures and programs:

For us, the advancement of women starts with the young generation: For example, we participate in numerous career information days as well as the annual “Future Day,” which gives young women and girls insights into technical apprenticeships. We are also present at university fairs to attract women to careers at Mercedes-Benz. We use targeted formats to attract and promote women in the STEM areas of our company. For example, special information events on entry-level positions at Mercedes-Benz are aimed specifically at young female talents in technical areas.

Within the company, Mercedes‑Benz offers a range of career development programs for female managers and administrative professionals worldwide, including the Group‑wide program “Inspired by Bertha!”, named after Bertha Benz, who made automotive history with her long‑distance drive in the Patent Motor Car.

Mercedes-Benz is part of the first global initiative specifically aimed at advancing and empowering women in companies: the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles. These principles encompass seven guidelines for gender equality. By signing, Mercedes-Benz commits to integrating these principles into its business practices.
