Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) is the worldwide production location for a variety of large luxury SUVs bearing the three-pointed star. The highly flexible Mercedes-Benz production system allows the Alabama plant to assemble the GLE-, GLS- and GLE Coupe sport utility vehicles, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach GLS for all global markets. The plant also successfully launched the all-electric EQE SUV, EQS SUV and Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV.
Roughly 60 percent of the SUVs assembled in Alabama are being exported to almost every country in the world and more than 5 million vehicles have been assembled since 1997.
MBUSI currently employs around 5,800 Team Members with an estimated additional impact of more than 60,000¹ jobs with suppliers and service providers in the region. Around 200 suppliers in the United States are supporting the production at MBUSI.
