Digital Driving Experiences for the Next Generation of Vans.

Anjana, how did you come to join Mercedes-Benz?

I originally come from a small town in southern India. After completing my bachelor's degree, I moved to Germany to pursue a master's degree in Computer Science. From an early stage, I knew that I wanted to work in the automotive industry, ideally at Mercedes-Benz.

When I came across a suitable position, I applied straight away. During the recruitment process, my technical foundations proved particularly valuable. At the same time, it was important to stay up to date with current technology trends and developments.

What exactly are your tasks?

I work in the Vans division at our Untertürkheim site and serve as the Function Owner for driving functions displayed in the instrument cluster of an electric van. I am part of the Front Displays and Infotainment Systems team.

Together with my team, we implement a wide range of functions within the driver display. Our goal is to continuously enhance the driving experience for our customers. These functions include displaying the outside temperature, tyre pressure information, and status messages relating to interior and exterior lighting. Data from various sensors and control units is processed and then presented in the instrument cluster.

In addition to development work itself, my day-to-day responsibilities also include vehicle testing, coordinating with other teams, and project planning. It is precisely this variety that makes the role so exciting for me.

Which technologies are you particularly excited about at the moment?

I am especially fascinated by Artificial Intelligence and electric mobility. Both fields are evolving incredibly quickly and offer enormous potential for the future. These are technologies that will sustainably transform our everyday lives while also providing countless opportunities for professional and personal growth.

What do you value most about Mercedes-Benz as an employer?

I am motivated by the opportunity to work on technologies that millions of people will use in the future.
