With this company-wide rollout, the initiative ranks among the largest, most comprehensive AI deployments in European industry. The introduction is part of the strategic partnership with Microsoft and marks another milestone in the company’s long‑term digital and AI strategy. The goal is not to use AI selectively, but to integrate it systematically into day‑to‑day work – supporting knowledge work, decision‑making and operational processes.

Standardising on a unified system across the Group reduces complexity and operating costs while creating a shared learning and development platform for all employees. New applications can be tested and scaled globally at a faster pace. At the same time, a central platform emerges on which custom-built AI agents can be deployed company‑wide – for example, to automate administrative or specialist processes.

For us, the global rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot is far more than a technology update. We’re democratising AI across the entire Group. Together with Microsoft, we’re bringing powerful and secure AI directly into the hands of our teams. This gives us greater speed, efficiency and freedom to innovate.

Company‑wide deployment as a workplace application

Since 2024, Microsoft 365 Copilot has already been successfully used in selected areas of the company. Integrated directly into the Office work environment, Microsoft 365 Copilot accesses corporate information, supports routine tasks, creates reports, summarises information and prepares decision‑making documents – always within clearly defined security and governance standards. This allows employees to spend more time on analytical, creative and strategic tasks. With the global rollout, Mercedes‑Benz is also reinforcing the vision of the “Winning Attitude” corporate initiative. Copilot becomes a tool that makes this success‑driven mindset tangible for employees, accelerates innovation and simplifies collaboration.

AI enablement for everyone across the Group Close

The widespread use of AI is supported by 360‑degree learning programs, qualification initiatives and an active AI community. The aim is to systematically build AI skills across all hierarchical levels. Tailored training for production teams and administrative staff ensures broad acceptance of AI solutions.

Currently, the weekly AI usage rate among employees is around 50 percent. Usage has more than doubled over the past year.

Governance as the foundation for responsible AI use Close

Mercedes‑Benz relies on a mandatory, risk‑based governance framework and clearly defined AI principles. AI is used within a controlled environment that ensures data security, compliance and responsible application. This allows Mercedes‑Benz to combine innovation speed with responsible technology use – an essential success factor for AI in industrial settings.

AI along the entire value chain Close

Mercedes‑Benz is using artificial intelligence systematically along the entire value chain. Today, AI‑based copilots support processes in, for example, procurement, development, workshops and the production network. In the coming years, the use of AI agents and intelligent assistance systems will continue to expand and become even more deeply integrated into core business processes. The current rollout marks another step toward an organisation in which AI support becomes an integral part of everyday work.
