Mercedes-Benz Research and Developement North America.

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America.

Mercedes-Benz was the first vehicle manufacturer to establish an R&D center in Silicon Valley 30 years ago. While developing and certifying vehicles for U.S. and global markets across North American locations, Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA) has earned nearly 100 cutting-edge technology patents secured through Mercedes-Benz and its affiliated entities.

Our work ranges from powertrain development and vehicle certification to autonomous driving technology and in-car user experiences including advanced interior and exterior design. Over three decades, MBRDNA has led the industry with groundbreaking firsts: first iPod music navigation, first German premium automotive manufacturer to achieve Apple CarPlay integration, and Google Send-to-Car functionality. Our latest achievements include ChatGPT integration via MBUX and Mercedes Benz DRIVE PILOT— the first SAE-Level 3 system for conditionally automated driving approved for U.S. roads.

It is not just about cars, it is also about creating the latest and greatest software, cutting-edge technology, and groundbreaking innovation.
