Collaboration with Cognition

Agentic AI in Software Development.

April 28, 2026 – Software is a core part of the Mercedes-Benz value chain and a key factor in delivering innovative products and services. Mercedes-Benz is therefore using agentic AI in software development together with the start-up Cognition, accelerating development cycles by up to 25 per cent.

The focus is on AI-powered development tools such as Devin and Windsurf, which provide targeted support to developers in their day-to-day work and make development processes more efficient.

People and AI working together: AI takes on complex and repetitive tasks. Professional responsibility and decision-making remain with the development teams. This creates more scope for innovation and the continuous advancement of software solutions.
