A question of attitude

We help when disaster strikes.

Through targeted support, Mercedes-Benz provides support in regions experiencing exceptional situations. As we understand disaster relief as an expression of our attitude and social responsibility, we maintain long-term partnerships with international aid organizations and donate to regional organizations when the need arises to provide quick, effective, and on-site crisis support.

Through monetary donations and by providing Mercedes-Benz vehicles to transport relief supplies or enable evacuation, we have made targeted contributions to disaster relief and supported people in acute crisis situations.

Examples of our commitment

Support for wildfire victims in Southern California Close

In January 2025, Mercedes-Benz USA supported the American Red Cross and the LA Fire Department Foundation with a donation of $500,000. The funds helped affected communities rebuild after the severe wildfires, ensured the provision of food and shelter for people in need, and promoted long-term recovery and prevention measures.

Support in the USA after Hurricane Helene Close

In October 2024, Mercedes-Benz USA and other Mercedes-Benz US entities donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross to support humanitarian aid after Hurricane Helene. The storm caused severe damage in several southeastern states. The donation contributed to providing emergency shelters, food, and acute support for affected people while supporting the regions’ long-term recovery.

Aid for Ukrainians Close

Since 2022, Mercedes-Benz has been supporting people in and from Ukraine with monetary and in-kind donations. The total aid provided so far has amounted to approximately €9 million. At the beginning of the war, we donated €1 million to the German Red Cross to enable immediate humanitarian aid. Some 64 vehicles worth over €3.7 million were then handed over to the German Red Cross, Caritas, and SOS Children's Villages. A further €2 million was provided in 2022 and 2023 for the Rebuilding Hope project run by SOS Children's Villages worldwide. This program focuses on trauma-pedagogical assistance for children and stabilizing affected families. To ensure the project’s sustainable impact, this collaboration continued in 2024 with an additional donation of €2 million. Worldwide, other national and Group companies have also provided assistance ranging from in-kind donations to support for the transport and care of displaced people.
