Improved living conditions and quality learning

Community empowerment.

Alongside ecological sustainability, empowering communities forms the second pillar of our CSR strategy. Our goal is to empower communities and foster their resilience and innovative capacity, enabling people to shape their own development and well-being. We particularly support access to high-quality education, promote social mobility and inclusion, strengthen talent in the education system, and foster the development of culture, diversity, and skills. Additionally, we are involved in road safety initiatives to create safe public spaces through training.

A project to strengthen families and prevent child labor in Congo.

Since 2019, Mercedes-Benz has been supporting the Bon Pasteur project in Kolwezi, which aims to improve living conditions in this central cobalt mining region in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the long term. This partnership runs from 2026 to 2029 with an integrated project specifically combating child labor in mining communities. The focus is on prevention, education, supporting affected children, and promoting sustainable income opportunities for vulnerable families. Younger children gain access to high-quality primary education, while older youths are supported in transitioning to secondary schools or vocational training via scholarships, school transport, and skills training. Furthermore, alternative income sources, especially for women, are strengthened. Each year, around 300 children are expected to receive access to education, 250 children to benefit from school transport, and 300 families to have their livelihoods supported.

Social commitment to education and career orientation

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA)  is committed to education and career orientation in Atlanta and nationwide. Employees volunteer to support young people on their educational and career paths. A key example is the partnership with Junior Achievement USA, through which students acquire skills in career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. In Atlanta, MBUSA also supports the 3DE program, which enhances high school education with practical case studies. A yearly highlight is the Case Challenge at MBUSA headquarters, where teams from King High School tackle real economic issues and present their solutions. In 2025, both programs reached over 17,900 young people. Over 70 employees volunteered, helping to increase the graduation rate of Junior Achievement USA participants by 26 percent and college enrollment by almost a third.

GIVE 'N RACE: Running for social justice

Mercedes-Benz GIVE is an initiative of our Mercedes-Benz Korea colleagues to support disadvantaged children and young people. It combines athletic commitment with social engagement and strengthens a culture of giving. The GIVE 'N RACE running event is one of the country's most well-known CSR-initiatives. The 13th race took place in April 2026 in Busan and raised KRW 1.025 billion (approx. €583,000) with around 20,000 participants. Since its inception, over 165,000 runners have participated and collected more than KRW 8.6 billion (approx. €4.9 million).

The funds are channeled through the Future For Youth Foundation to, among other things, counseling centers that provide psychological support for children in difficult situations, and safe public indoor playgrounds that offer spaces for play, learning, and positive development.
