Mercedes-Benz models in the environmental check.

Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans already follow the “Design for Environment” approach during vehicle development. During the concept phase, experts rethink material composition. They assess alternatives, use recycled materials and focus on lightweight design and recyclability. As a result, vehicles are intended to use resources more efficiently throughout their entire life cycle.

The results are documented in the externally audited brochures for the Mercedes-Benz cars.

Since 2009, the results have been presented in the “Lifecycle” brochure. The “Lifecycle COMPACT” edition, published in parallel, presents the topics relating to the environmental performance of Mercedes-Benz vehicles throughout their entire life cycle in an easy-to-understand way, whilst also summarising Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to the environment.
