Facts and figures
Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd (BBAC), a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and BAIC Motor, has been producing Mercedes-Benz passenger cars since 2005 and engines since 2013. BBAC is an important part of Mercedes-Benz's global production network.
Mercedes-Benz and BAIC have jointly set up local battery production at the existing site in the Yizhuang Industrial Park in Beijing (China). Since 2019, it has been supplying the nearby vehicle plant with battery systems for the all-electric Mercedes-Benz models.
Since 2020, production has also been carried out at its second plant in Beijing's Shunyi district.
