Asset-Backed Securities are an important funding source of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada Corporation (MBFS Canada). MBFS Canada acts as originator and servicer for in Canadian Dollar denominated securitizations. The ABS bonds are offered to both Canadian and US investors.

Retail Lease Securitizations

The debut SALC transaction (‘Silver Arrow Lease Canada platform’) in 2014 was the first broadly distributed retail lease ABS deal in Canada since 2006. Since then multiple SALC deals have been executed. The ABS bonds are secured by retail lease contracts backed by passenger cars and SUVs from Mercedes-Benz and Smart.

Retail Loan Securitizations

Retail loan contracts which are backed by passenger cars and SUVs from Mercedes-Benz and Smart are securitized under the SAC program (‘Silver Arrow Canada platform’). The inaugural SAC transaction was successfully issued in 2018.
