In all four safety disciplines considered, the electric Mercedes Benz CLA shows up with top values: in occupant protection for adults and children, in the protection of vulnerable road users and in safety assistants.

This means that the electric CLA not only leads the “Small Family Cars” category but also takes the top position across all classes in 2025. It is following in the footsteps of the Mercedes Benz E Class, which Euro NCAP named “Best Performer” last year. Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) is an association of European transport ministries, automobile clubs and insurance associations and carries out crash tests and comprehensive safety assessments. The all-new electric CLA has been developed from the ground up with state-of-the-art safety aspects in mind.

The goal is clear: Mercedes Benz wants to offer the safest car of its class. The new standard safety assistance systems can prevent many accidents. Should an accident nevertheless occur, the crumple zones, the rigid passenger compartment and the restraint systems are specifically designed in such a way that the probability of being seriously injured is as low as possible.

In 2026, Mercedes-Benz marks 140 years since the invention of the automobile. Throughout its history, the company has repeatedly set industry benchmarks by translating pioneering safety research into proven, series-production technologies — from passive and active safety systems to advanced driver assistance —, often introducing them to the market first and establishing standards that later became commonplace across the industry.
