The optimum provision of vehicle parts for a Mercedes-Benz following its purchase is one of the fundamental elements of the Mercedes-Benz Service. This is made possible by intelligent logistics with efficient processes. At the heart of the global after-sales parts supply is the Global Logistics Center in Germersheim.
The Global Logistics Center is one of the largest central warehouses for the automotive industry. It supplies parts and accessories for Mercedes-Benz cars and vans, as well as smart, to logistics centres all over the world. It is also the competence centre and control centre for the global after-sales supply chain. With over 1.5 million square metres of warehouse space, the central warehouse holds around 500,000 different genuine parts ready for immediate dispatch. Globally networked, with intelligent logistics processes and the latest warehouse technology, 2800 employees work every day to ensure that Mercedes-Benz customers remain mobile, all over the world.
The Global Logistics Center is located on a peninsula between the river Rhine and the arms of the Old Rhine, in Germersheim in the southern Palatinate region of Germany. An international environment is combined here with the Palatinate lifestyle.
Field of work with a future
Logistics is a field of work with a future and the organisation of global supply chains is becoming increasingly important. The Global Logistics Center is therefore investing in the further education and training of the next generation of employees. Germersheim oversees the training of specialists in warehouse logistics as well as of mechatronics technicians, the latter in cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz plant in Rastatt. Various dual degrees are also offered. For students, there are also a number of interesting subject areas for an internship or holiday job.
