The all-electric ecosystem

More than vehicles.

From electric vehicles, through wall boxes and charging services - the Mercedes-Benz ecosystem of intelligent electric mobility comprises products, services, technologies and innovations.

MB.CHARGE Public: Mercedes-Benz drives electric mobility forward with simplified charging rates

The integrated charging service MB.CHARGE Public[a]The prerequisite for this is the customer's own internet connection with the customer's own smartphone, a Mercedes me account and connection of the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox to the customer's own internet connection.
replaces the previous Mercedes me Charge service and provides customers easy access to one of the largest charging networks in the world with over 2.3 million charging points from more than 1,600 charging station operators. MB.CHARGE Public offers three charging tariffs that are tailored to the individual mileage.

Before charging, the exact prices per kilowatt-hour or minute, as well as the estimated costs to reach the maximum charge level for fully electric vehicles, are displayed. Each charging process is automatically billed through MB.CHARGE Public. This makes charging with MB.CHARGE Public even easier and more transparent.

Customer Benefits of MB.CHARGE Public

  • Charging Station Display and Intelligent Route Planning: The exact location and current availability of charging points are displayed via MBUX navigation, for example, in the vicinity or at the destination. Navigation with Electric Intelligence plans the fastest and most comfortable route including charging stops based on numerous factors.
  • Reservation Function:¹ Starting in Germany and the US, Mercedes-Benz customers can exclusively reserve a charging point in advance at one of Mercedes-Benz’s own charging parks via MB.CHARGE Public. With active route guidance through Navigation with Electric Intelligence, the reservation is automatically made by the vehicle 15 minutes before reaching the charging station.
  • Easy Charging Start: With a charging contract at MB.CHARGE Public, customers always charge in the usual user-friendly way, regardless of the respective charging station operator. Authentication at the charging station is done via the MBUX multimedia system², the Mercedes-Benz app, the RFID charging card, or directly via Plug & Charge³ at participating charging point operators.
  • Fixed Prices for AC/DC Charging: In Europe, customers choose one of three MB.CHARGE Public tariffs (S, M, L)[c]A service of Digital Charging Solutions GmbH.
. With the M and L tariffs, they can charge at attractive fixed prices for AC/DC, regardless of the operator of the respective charging station.

Mercedes-Benz wallbox charges electric vehicles in a networked and intelligent way

The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox enables fast, intelligent and convenient charging of electric cars and plug-in hybrids with up to 22 kW[d]22 kW charging may require the corresponding special equipment "alternating current charging system (AC charging 22 kW)", depending on the manufacturer and vehicle. If this is not the case, the vehicle is automatically charged by the wallbox with the optimal charging power. The maximum charging power of the charging station must be adapted to the upstream installation (cable cross-section and fuse protection).
. It offers remote functions[e]The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox contains the technical prerequisites for remote functions. In order to use the remote functions of the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox, the Mercedes me App, a personal Mercedes me ID and agreement to the Terms of Use for the Mercedes me connect services, as well as the connection of the wallbox to the customer's own Internet connection, are required.

and the possibility of over-the-air software updates. The wallbox is made of high-quality, weather-resistant materials and indicates the charging status via an LED light. The charging power can be reduced to 11 kW if required.

It is equipped with a Type 2 connector and is compatible with all current and future Mercedes-Benz electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles as well as with electric vehicles from other manufacturers. The wallbox is available from Mercedes-Benz dealers and in the Mercedes-Benz Shop as well as through installation partners. The recommended retail price in Germany is 990 Euro (incl. 19% VAT).
It is available in numerous European and other countries worldwide.

¹ Currently, the reservation function is available at selected Mercedes-Benz charging stations in Germany and the US. Further rollouts are planned for 2025, with the long-term goal of establishing around 10,000 charging points by the end of the decade. Mercedes-Benz initially offers the reservation option free of charge. Please note that Mercedes-Benz reserves the right to make the reservation chargeable in the future.
