Michael Häberle was born in 1969 in Stuttgart Bad-Cannstatt. He completed an apprenticeship program as a mechanic at Mercedes-Benz in Untertürkheim in 1986.
In 1996, he completed his technical college training and passed the examination to become a state-certified mechanical engineer. In the year 2000, he completed a supplementary study in Business Administration alongside with his job.
He has worked in different areas of the company, among others, as electrical mechanic in Passenger Cars Development and a business administration employee at the Untertürkheim Plant.
Michael Häberle was elected to the Works Council for the first time in 1998. In 2017, he became deputy Chairman of the Works Council and thus also a member of the General Works Council. Since January 2019, he is active as Chairman of the Works Council of the Mercedes-Benz Untertürkheim Plant, Research & Development Cars.
In addition, he is a member of the European Works Council, the World Employee Committee (WEC), the Group Works Council of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, the Collective Bargaining Commission and other bodies of IG Metall.
He is active as an honorary judge at the Stuttgart Labor Court.
