Successful together: At Mercedes-Benz, we promote an inclusive and trusting corporate culture that allows us to achieve the best results.
The Mercedes-Benz Group sells vehicles and services in almost every country in the world and has more than 30 production sites in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and Africa. We work in international teams with global interfaces and are networked worldwide.
At Mercedes-Benz we are around 175,000 people¹ from 150 different countries. The cultural diversity of our workforce helps us to better understand the regionally diverse customer needs and tailor our products accordingly. That is why we use training to promote the intercultural skills of our employees and focus on the targeted recruiting of international talents – for example as part of the various talent programs. Additionally, we support international assignments for our employees.
Diversity is an integral part of our corporate strategy. At Mercedes-Benz, we develop equitable processes and promote a culture of appreciation and respect. We also actively promote the advancement of women and strive for international perspectives at all levels, as well as a global mindset.
For us, integrity means doing the right thing. This means that we follow internal and external rules, align our own actions with our corporate principles and listen to our inner compasses. Our Integrity Code makes it clear which rules apply to all of us and which principles we follow.
Our eight principles of collaboration define how we work, communicate, lead and interact with each other. They all have one thing in common: They focus on people.
These eight principles include:
With an eye to the future of mobility and the transformation of our industry, we would now like to turn the spotlight on the last three of these principles and present them in more detail:
We lead by creating meaning. We deliver results based on shared beliefs and act on the basis of integrity while motivating others and inspiring them to perform at their best.
How do we go about this?
We show our appreciation and contribute to the team's sense of togetherness. We make sure decisions and tasks are transparent, take responsibility and create a culture of respectful collaboration. We encourage others to think about creative solutions. In doing so, we keep an eye on the big picture and act as role models.
We shape our vision of mobility with creativity and a spirit of research. Through our creativity, our ingenuity and our ability to take advantage of new business opportunities, we are successful in the long term.
How do we go about this?
We apply strategies, methods and new technologies in order to successfully drive change. We question the status quo and actively look for innovative alternatives. We actively research new developments and trends that are relevant to the future success of the organisation.
We learn quickly and actively ask for feedback. We are constantly evolving – as individuals and as an organisation.
How do we go about this?
We share our accumulated knowledge and experience. We deal responsibly with mistakes and use them as learning opportunities. We give and ask for feedback from different perspectives and have the will to develop ourselves and others.
