The Mercedes-Benz Düsseldorf Plant was founded in 1962 and is the largest plant of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
On a production area of about 325,000 square meters, around 5.200 employees produce the panel van model variants of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and eSprinter. The plant is one of the largest industrial employers and companies offering vocational training in the region.. In 1999, production of the eSprinter started, in 2023, the plant also started producing the new generation of the eSprinter.
The location will produce all internal combustion engine variants of the new Commercial Van based on the new Mercedes-Benz Van Architecture in the Large Van segment: on the one hand, vehicles as a panel van and with a state-of-the-art internal combustion engine, and on the other hand flatbed model variants. In addition, flatbed vans with electric drive will also roll off the production line at this location.
