Mercedes-Benz focuses on holistic health and occupational safety management.
The aim is to prevent accidents at work, work-related illnesses and occupational diseases as much as possible as well as to prevent health risks. In this regard, we have international corporate policies for occupational health and safety along with uniform guidelines. These internal guidelines are based on international standards and require compliance with national laws.
We aim to maintain the health and performance of our employees on a permanent basis and promote well-being. Above all, the focus is on preventive measures that we continuously examine and further develop. For example, the holistic health management of Mercedes-Benz in Germany offers numerous health programs and prevention measures every year. This includes, among other things, free medical care, advice on a healthy lifestyle, individual exercise offers and an ergonomic workplace design. Around 300 internal health experts are available to employees at Mercedes-Benz for optimum care.
This company medical service from Mercedes-Benz provides employees with advice on and assistance for preventing health problems such as cardiovascular diseases or back issues. The on-site offer also includes a health check (voluntary screening for early detection of risk factors) and the opportunity for employees to receive free flu vaccinations every fall. The qualified medical team also takes care of emergency medicine and the necessary vaccinations before working abroad.
In addition to advice on a healthy lifestyle, individual exercise offers, mental health and ergonomic workplace design, a health app in Germany supports maintaining your own health. This app enables employees to create an individual profile, set and measure their own health goals and take part in digital events.
Where people work together, tension can arise – in numerous ways. The Mercedes-Benz counselling service in Germany offers coaching and advice on personal and professional conflict and crisis situations to all employees. One focus is on the continuous development of psychosocial leadership skills. That’s because appropriately qualified managers can better recognise when team members are under stress − and can provide effective support. Our managers are therefore specifically trained to recognise signs of personal crises – for employees and for themselves. Our counselling service supports managers in finding ways of action and solutions.
For the well-being of employees, Mercedes-Benz Gastronomy provides healthy nutrition at seven locations in Germany. Healthy and climate-friendly food is characterised by a gastronomic traffic-light system. Each day there is at least one main plant dish in the canteens along with many other vegetarian and vegan alternatives.
