The Mercedes-Benz Untertürkheim Plant with its over 19,000 employees has a 110-year tradition and is the lead plant in the global Powertrain production network.
The parent plant: Untertürkheim is home to the development, production and shipping of engines, transmission and axles, as well as to Mercedes-Benz Group Headquarters. The Research and Development unit is also located here with the high banked curve for vehicle testing. The plant comprises six sub-plants. While engines are built in Untertürkheim and Bad Cannstatt, where the forge is also located, transmissions are produced in Hedelfingen. Mettingen is home to the axle production and the foundry. The training unit is located in Brühl, the flexible production is in Sirnau. Please note that the statements are only available in German.
