The Mercedes-Benz Düsseldorf plant.

The Mercedes-Benz Düsseldorf Plant is the largest van plant of Mercedes-Benz.

It was founded in 1962 and plays a principal role in the global production network of Mercedes-Benz Vans. On a production area of about 325.000 square meters, more than 5.600 employees produce the closed model variants of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and eSprinter – the originator of the segment of large vans. The plant is one of the largest industrial employers and companies offering vocational training in the region. Currently, 124 young people are receiving vocational training in the plant. Mercedes-Benz Vans is constantly investing in the maintenance and modernization of the plant. €300 million have been invested in the current generation of the Sprinter, of which €50 million have been invested at the site for the new eSprinter, which will be built in Düsseldorf from the second half of 2023.
