Charging Infrastructure.

At Mercedes-Benz, the goal is to provide customers with a seamless end-to-end charging experience, starting with the vehicle itself and encompassing all the possibilities offered by our extensive range of charging services.

By establishing our global Mercedes-Benz Charging Network, we are expanding the availability of fast-charging points and aiming to set new standards for fast and comfortable electric vehicle charging. By the end of the decade, around 10,000 charging points are planned across North America, Europe, China, and other key markets. The fast-charging parks are open to all vehicle brands, while Mercedes-Benz customers enjoy special benefits, such as the reservation function¹ via MB.CHARGE Public², which helps reduce waiting times and ensures a charging spot is available when needed.

With MB.CHARGE Public, Mercedes-Benz offers a charging service seamlessly connected to the vehicle's operating system. By combining intelligent navigation with the integrated charging service, Mercedes-Benz demonstrates the technological intelligence of its vehicles. The digital charging functions are seamlessly integrated into the MBUX multimedia system and the Mercedes-Benz app and can be operated via the same user interface. Through MB.CHARGE Public, customers have access to one of the largest public charging networks, with around 3 million charging points operated by more than 1,500 providers.

The MBUX navigation displays the exact location and real-time availability of charging points, for example, in the vicinity or at the destination. Navigation with Electric Intelligence plans the fastest and most comfortable route, including charging stops, based on numerous factors.

In addition to our activities in the public charging sector, we are also advancing home and business charging solutions. With the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox, customers can charge where it is most convenient: at home. The Wallbox enables fast, intelligent and convenient charging for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.

On the way to a fully electric future, bidirectional charging (V2X) is considered key for Mercedes-Benz. In combination with smart charging solutions for private households, it allows customers to reduce CO₂ emissions, lower energy costs or increase their energy independence.

With bidirectional charging, electricity flows in two directions. The e-vehicle draws power from the energy grid and is charged but can also feed it into the grid (vehicle-to-grid, V2G) or into the home (vehicle-to-home, V2H) as needed.

Vehicle fleets also play a key role in shaping an electric future. For business customers, Mercedes-Benz is therefore further developing its solutions, including dedicated consulting support, installation of the charging infrastructure, and tailored financial services.

¹ Currently, the reservation function is available at selected Mercedes-Benz charging stations. Mercedes-Benz initially offers the reservation option free of charge. Please note that Mercedes-Benz reserves the right to make the reservation chargeable in the future.
² To use the Digital Extras, you must create a Mercedes me ID and agree to the Terms of Use for Digital Extras and the Mercedes me ID Service Terms in their applicable versions. In addition, the respective vehicle must be linked to the user account. After the limited term expires, the Digital Extras can be extended for a fee, provided they are still offered for the corresponding vehicle. To use the Digital Extra MB.CHARGE Public, a separate customer-specific charging contract with a selected third-party provider is required.
