In the global Powertrain production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars, the Mercedes-Benz Hamburg Plant develops and produces axles and axle components, steering columns, as well as emission control components and lightweight-construction structural parts.
Future-oriented technologies like state-of-the-art welding processes and the combination of hydroforming and plastic injection techniques are being advanced at the location for use in series production. The employed polymer metal hybrid technology was developed and readied for use in series production in the plant, and remains unique in the world. Currently the location has over 2,500 employees.
