You can apply to be a working student at any time. Applications are made online. Positions are normally advertised on our careers website two to six months before the start of the working student.
You will need very good grades in your studies so far and ideally will have already completed internships, both at home and abroad, that are relevant to your course.
Active student status is a prerequisite.
This means that you are registered and actively studying. It is important that you are within the standard period of study (or a maximum of 3 semesters over). You will find the standard period of study in the respective study regulations for your degree program at the university. Please note that it is only possible to be employed as a working student for as long as you can show that you still have examinations to complete. Working hours are between 7 and 20 hours per week.
