Business courses

In the business informatics / data science course, you will learn how information is generated from large amounts of data in order to derive recommendations for action and how artificial intelligence can be used to solve business issues.

Theory
The basics of information technology, current computer science methods and modern IT technologies for the development of software systems are taught. You will gain broad knowledge in programming, system development and project management. There are also the subjects of business administration, economics as well as law and foreign languages. A small study group of around 30 people promotes direct contact not only with your fellow students, but also with the lecturers. In the last year of study you write your bachelor thesis and finish your studies with a “Bachelor of Science”.

Practice
At the same time, you will work perfectly integrated in various IT and business areas. Annually updated seminars and lectures round off your studies.

Areas of deployment

In the IT area or as a direct supervisor of a customer area: conception, development and optimization of IT systems

  • Project management: Participation in the development of complex IT solutions
  • Applications: in subject-specific areas of responsibility such as looking after a specific application
  • Business Analyst: Process and profitability analyzes

Theory
Your major subject will include banking operations, business administration and economics, as well as in finance and accounting. You can deepen your knowledge of commercial papers and derivatives for example. You will write a dissertation during your sixth assignment before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts.

Practice
Deployment across various business areas and dealerships will provide you with a thorough insight into of the company. Through the active participation in the day-to-day business activities and a range of project tasks you will learn all about the operational sequences in different departments.

  • Leasing and financing: e.g. in the private vehicle, fleet management (major customer accounts) and CharterWay (truck leasing) divisions

As a graduate of our dual study business studies/commerce course, it will be your role to use these potentials, online as well as offline.

Theory
Alongside basic business principles, you'll learn all you need to know about marketing and commerce as you focus on different areas. The study of web technology is mandatory. You will write your dissertation in the sixth semester and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts.

Practice
During the course you'll become acquainted with several branches and centers. Closely involved in day-to-day business activities, you'll be regularly challenged to put your knowledge into practice. Various training programs round off the course.

The objective of the study programme is to give you a deeper understanding of information technology core competences in addition to a profound business education. This puts you in position to competently support business development at Daimler and to help create the conditions for the company’s market success in industry 4.0 technologies.

Theory

  • Compulsory subjects in business administration: accounting, marketing, economics, financial book-keeping, law, human resources, material and production management, information technology, mathematics, statistics, working academically, general business administration
  • Compulsory subjects in industry 4.0: IT basics, introduction to industrial management, information management, communication systems, IT management and IT law, development and design in the field of 4.0, such as Cyber Physical Systems, Digital Enterprise, Cloud Computing, Business Intelligence & Big Data

Practice
During your studies you will work independently in various business units. You will create and accompany the exciting changes making for the success of industry 4.0 technologies. We will support you at every stage and provide you with an understanding of your job - and your future business.

  • Marketing and sales: strategic marketing, market research
  • Finance and accounting/controlling: balancing accounts, investment and finance
  • Human resources and organization: HR management, remuneration policy, HR development
  • Procurement and logistics: organizing cooperation with various suppliers

A global company needs people who think – and act – globally. As a dual study graduate in business studies/international business, you will be ideally equipped for a wide range of international roles.

Theory
English, German and partly Spanish – you can gain an insight into your future deployment areas just from the languages used in the lectures. Learning takes place in small study groups in direct contact with your tutors, through the use of case studies and through self-study in main topics. The course also includes a semester abroad in another European country.

Practice
Your practical application will give you the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge in a real working environment. Thorough involvement in day-to-day business activities and a range of accompanying training courses will ensure you are optimally prepared for your subsequent assignments. You will graduate from the course with a Bachelor of Arts.

A systematic – and international – approach to developing your career. As an international business informatics analyst, you'll combine commercial, interpersonal and IT skills, using them as the basis for making crucial organizational decisions in an international context.

Theory

The course focuses on business informatics, systems development, IT, business administration and project management. Small classes with around 30 students promote close contact with your colleagues as well as your tutors. This international course can include a semester abroad spent in another European country. In your final year of study, you'll write your bachelor thesis before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Practice

You'll be closely involved with various IT and business areas. The course is complemented by training courses that are updated annually and specialized lectures.

  • IT or as direct support for one of the following customer areas: design, development or optimization of IT systems
  • Project management: Working on the development of complex IT solutions
  • Applications: In specialist functional areas such as support for a specific application
